Posted May 8, 2014
Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr., convicted in the 2008 shooting death of UNC’s student body president, lost his second appeal Tuesday when his life sentence was upheld by the N.C. Court of Appeals. The court said there was no error by a lower court when it sentenced Lovette, 23, to life in prison without parole for a second time in June 2013.
