UNC "in the running" for 2016 OG Richard Merritt
Posted Jun 30, 2014
Richard Merritt, a 2016 offensive guard out of Archbishop Carroll in Washington, D.C., told CarolinaBlue that UNC is "in the running." The 6-foot-5, 345-pound prospect says he has not heard from UNC since camp, but did mentioned that one coach stopped by his high school. Recruiting regulations prohibited the coach doing any more than merely shaking Merritt's hand. Per the 247Sports Composite rankings Merritt is the No. 2 offensive guard in the 2016 class.
