James Michael McAdoo's path a personal choice

Compared to pro football or baseball, roster spots are extremely scarce in the NBA, and a player can make a lot of money overseas. If James Michael McAdoo performs well enough to merit a place in the NBA, a franchise will give him an opportunity, regardless of how his college career began or ended. If McAdoo is comfortable with the path he's chosen, it doesn't really matter what we think.
