Louisville caught ACC's eye long time ago

In November 2012, the University of Louisville received an invitation to join the Atlantic Coast Conference following a critical 11-day period that began when Maryland announced it was joining the Big Ten. But the process actually started unfolding long before that. ACC Commissioner John Swofford knew the conference landscape was ever changing, and he knew that if — or when — another domino fell, his league would need to act swiftly.
