Packers hope Julius Peppers boosts defense

Julius Peppers may not have the first-step explosion he once possessed — bursting off the edge in Carolina — but he remains a 6-foot-6, 287-pound overwhelming athlete. Defensive coordinator Dom Capers plans to use Peppers throughout the defense. The Packers' hope is to scheme him into advantageous one-on-one situations. And he'll start at outside linebacker.
