If you're going to allow over 500 yards of offense and allow the opposition to take ten more offensive snaps, you'd better control the turnover battle. That's what the Tar Heels did. All three turnovers picked off by the Carolina defense--including Brian Walker's 102-yard interception return for a touchdown in the first half--played a significant role in the outcome.
