Big Ten falls flat on marquee weekend

Whoever coined the phrase “perception is reality” had to be talking about Big Ten football. Coming into the 2014 season, the common belief was the Big Ten was the weakest of the Power Five conferences. Sure, the folks around the Midwestern conference that has begun stretching its footprint into a bizarre shape toward the East would argue and point to Michigan State and Ohio State as national contenders.
