No longer an underdog, is ECU ready for its next challenge?

ECU is a 2½-point favorite at home against rival North Carolina on Saturday – even though the Tar Heels are No. 25 in the current coaches poll and the Pirates aren’t ranked. What’s more, it’s UNC not ECU that comes into the game with the proverbial chip on its shoulder after getting knocked around at home last season in a 55-31 loss to a rival it once considered – and many still consider – inferior.
