Texas QB David Ash gives up football due to concussions


Texas football got a big hit on Wednesday when it was announced that starting quarterback David Ash will give up football. Ash was held out of the Longhorns' game against BYU in Week 2 after suffering a concussion in the opener against North Texas. After the BYU game, Strong announced that Ash was "out indefinitely." Ash has a history of concussions and there were calls for him to give up football in order to protect his health. (SB Nation)
