UNC, Clemson both coming off losses, headed in different directions

Clemson -- at 1-2, even -- is feeling a lot better about itself than North Carolina is at 2-1. UNC escaped with ugly win over San Diego State and questions swirled around them as they dropped out of the top 25 before heading to East Carolina, where they were shellacked, 70-41. Clemson, meanwhile, made easy work of South Carolina State before its bye week heading into the Florida State game.
