Packers release fourth-year tight end Ryan Taylor

In a bit of surprising news Monday, tight end Ryan Taylor has been released by the Green Bay Packers. The 2011 seventh-round pick from North Carolina spent these last four seasons with the Packers as a reserve tight end and core special teams player. Taylor, 6 foot 3, 254 pounds, caught eight passes for 45 yards with one touchdown in his career, making the 53-man roster this summer into the final year of his rookie contract.
