Andrew Miller key to Orioles’ ALCS plans

Now it can be told. Andrew Miller tried to convince the Red Sox to let him pitch in the World Series last season. The lefthanded reliever had surgery on his left foot in July to repair a torn ligament and was ruled out for the season. But as the Sox advanced deeper into the playoffs, Miller started playing catch. (Boston Globe)
