Roy Williams returns to KU during fieldhouse celebration

Roy Williams woke up at 4 a.m. Monday, and a few hours later, his former player C.B. McGrath dropped him off just outside Allen Fieldhouse. After a few steps, Williams found himself back in the building he called home for 15 years — one he hadn’t set foot in since his team’s final practice before the Final Four in 2003. “This is a special place, guys,” Williams said a few hours later.
