New hope at Carolina

Offensive line coach Sam Pittman said that Butch Davis encourages his coaches to take a positive approach in teaching the players. This doesn't mean being slack on teaching fundamentals or demanding effort; it means teaching with intelligence and respect. This team has been through a great deal with last year's losses and the firing of its coaching staff in midseason. The Tar Heels need to be encouraged, not beaten down. (Chapel Hill News)
