New backs vie for playing time
Posted Apr 2, 2007
Charlie "Choo Choo" Justice came from the North Carolina mountains and etched a permanent spot into Tar Heel history. Now Johnny White a 5-foot-10, 190-pound red-shirt freshman from the same city, has caught the attention of the new UNC coaching staff during spring practice. "We had a 45-play scrimmage [last week], and as far as the running backs, the standout was Johnny White," new head coach Butch Davis said recently. "Johnny had a 60-yard touchdown in the scrimmage."
