Clemson Basketball: Tigers Pull a “Chris Webber,” Lose to Gardner-Webb (video)
Posted Nov 23, 2014
“Clemsoning” now apparently applies to the basketball court as well, as the Tigers found an especially excruciating way to lose to Gardner-Webb on Friday in the Paradise Jam. After a 3-pointer by the Bulldogs to tie the score at 70 with 6.6 seconds left, Clemson called a timeout it didn’t have - a la Chris Webber in the 1993 NCAA Tournament final - and was assessed a technical foul. It ended up costing Clemson the game, 72-70, and resulting in plenty more “Clemsoning” jokes on Twitter.
