Tar Heels home from holiday to face UAB

North Carolina’s men’s basketball team hasn’t spent much time on campus the past week. Starting today, the Tar Heels will see plenty of the Dean Smith Center and a couple of old friends at the same time. No. 20 UNC, off for holiday break since beating Ohio State on Dec. 20 in Chicago, returns to action against Alabama-Birmingham today (4 p.m., ESPN2). (Durham Herald-Sun)
