Carolina improved to 11-3 this season and 1-0 in ACC play, winning its conference opener for the first time in three seasons. The Tar Heels committed just six turnovers, tying their fewest in 12 seasons under Roy Williams (doing so for the fourth time). Clemson did not score a point off a UNC turnover.
