Virginia Tech AD Whit Babcock, Beamer expect rapid improvement from Hokies football

Virginia Tech athletic director Whit Babcock didn’t stop the presses Saturday, but he made clear that he and football coach Frank Beamer expect more from Beamer’s program – in a hurry. During a 30-minute interview with five reporters prior to the Hokies’ basketball game against Syracuse, Babcock said he believes that Beamer, on the mend from Dec. 1 throat surgery, will be at full speed for spring practice in March.
