When the top-seeded Tar Heels and second-seeded Hoyas both won Friday night at the Meadowlands, the door to satisfaction was barely closed before a new one opened to the memory vault. Suddenly, the East regional is filled with memories of Smith and Jordan, John Thompson and Patrick Ewing, light blue and dark blue, as these two programs meet for the right to go to the Final Four.
