Julius Peppers on the verge once again

has experienced three close calls. He’s not interested in a fourth. Peppers reached a Super Bowl as a rookie a dozen years ago with the Carolina Panthers and lost on a late field goal. He also went to the 2005 and ’10 NFC title games (with the Panthers and Bears, respectively) and came up short. Sunday’s return to an NFC Championship game will occur on Peppers’ 35th birthday.
