Gene Chizik replaces Vic Koenning, the defensive chief for three seasons. The Tar Heels will base their scheme around a 4-3 alignment. Chizik has yet to decide which position he’ll coach; he has coached both linebackers and the secondary in his career. Larry Fedora and Chizik have never coached together, but their competitive paths have crossed at least four times. (GoHeels.com)
