Marquee matchups rekindle visions of past ACC basketball glory

ACC basketball through the 1980s and early ‘90s was the gold standard upon which everything else in the sport was measured. Its balance, passion and overall excellence were qualities every other conference aspired to duplicate. The reason I bring this up has nothing to do with nostalgia or to complain that things aren’t the way they used to be. Rather it’s to celebrate the rebirth of a tradition that had become more of a buzzword than reality in recent years. (Wilmington Star News)
