Dean Smith: Humanitarian, friend, leader

When Dean Smith recruited Eric Montross, Lawrence North High School coach Jack Keefer said Smith brought a legal pad covered with names, of players he'd sent to professional basketball. "He says to Montross, 'When it's time for you to go pro, and you will go pro, I'll have two law professors and a business teacher negotiate your first contract for free.'" There were so many sides of Smith's legacy worth praising. (Indianapolis Star)
