Dean Smith's influence felt strongly at UNC

The final season guard Hubert Davis played in the NBA was with the Detroit Pistons, who were in town to play against Michael Jordan during his final comeback with the Washington Wizards. Davis, who played at North Carolina from 1988 to 1992, had a surprise visitor enter the locker room before the game tipped off. His former coach at North Carolina, Dean Smith, as well as longtime assistant Bill Guthridge, who was the head coach from 1998 to 2000, stopped by to say hello.
