Dean Smith made everyone feel like they mattered

I like to think this is what made Dean Smith so special. He used his amazing powers of recall and applied them equally to everyone. He treated me the same as he would Michael Jordan or anyone. And he made me feel cared about. And, of course, he was about as nice a person as you could ask for. (ESPN.com)
