Former UNC walkon Joe Jenkins talks about Coach Smith

Out of 14 players, seven were McDonald’s All-Americans on the 1987-88 North Carolina men’s basketball team. The remaining seven who didn’t earn such acclaim were no less important in coach Dean Smith’s eyes. Joe Jenkins was certainly in the second group of seven, a UNC JV player who worked his way to a roster spot amongst the real deal Heels by his senior year.
