Joel Berry’s eight-point contribution Thursday was a perhaps overlooked, yet necessary component in North Carolina’s quarterfinal defeat of Louisville. All of the freshman guard’s scoring off the bench came in a neatly packaged first-half burst of less than two minutes and helped keep the Tar Heels, trailing by as many as seven during that stretch, from falling further behind.
