Sam Perkins: "I got back in town this week and saw the $200 check from Coach Dean Smith in the mail. Actually, I’m looking at it as I write this. When I first saw it, I was shocked that he left something to all of us in his will. You can’t find another coach who has done that for his players. He didn’t do it for notoriety or anything. That’s just how he was. When I saw it, I took a moment of silence because I have so much admiration for him." (Sam Perkins Blog)
