Adam Pate reached base five times and finished a triple shy of the cycle as No. 22 North Carolina beat No. 18 Coastal Carolina 9-3 Tuesday night at Boshamer Stadium. Tyler Ramirez added three hits for the Tar Heels, who avenged a 13-2 loss to Coastal in winning their second game in a row. Carolina continues its seven-game homestand Wednesday night at 6 against Liberty.
