Meaghan Francella Wins LPGA's MasterCard Classic

Former UNC golfer Meaghan Francella defeated Annika Sorenstam in a four-hole playoff to win the LPGA's MasterCard Classic Honoring Aleja Peralta. Francella, who played at Carolina 2003-2004, led going into the final round, but Sorenstam fired a six-under-par 66 to tie Francella, who shot a three-under 69, at the end of regulation play. Francella won with a 4-foot birdie putt on the fourth playoff hole at the Bosque Real Country Club in Mexico City.
