Dennis Smith Jr. still gets excited to see the elite coaches

Jr. is the No. 1 point guard and No. 4 overall prospect in the ESPN 60, which means he’s not being cliché when he says he’s here at the adidas Gauntlet to “get better” and “win games.” He’s in constant contact with N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried, knows UNC coach well enough to consider him “a cool guy” and sits right behind Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski when he visits for games. All three schools watched Smith score 18 points and dish out six assists to lead Team Loaded past the Oklahoma Wizards, 76-69, Friday night. (USA Today)
