Whiteville's Shaun Kirk Commits to N.C. State Basketball
Posted Apr 28, 2015
On a day in which N.C. State officially lost leading scorer Trevor Lacey to the NBA draft and missed out on five-star recruit Brandon Ingram to rival Duke, there was some good news for coach Mark Gottfried and his staff. It came in the form of a commitment from 6-foot-7 wing Shaun Kirk of Whiteville, who announced his intention to join the Wolfpack on Monday via Twitter. Kirk, a three-star prospect known for his leaping ability and accurate 3-point shooting touch, averaged 18.6 points and 5.0 rebounds for Whiteville last season before transferring to Flora MacDonald Academy in Red Springs at midseason.
