UNC grad Jim Lampley set to call Mayweather-Pacquiao fight
Posted Apr 30, 2015
Jim Lampley, the man who will call the richest prize fight in boxing history Saturday, began his broadcasting career in the Triangle. A 1971 graduate of UNC, Lampley reported sports part time for UNC-TV and WCHL radio in the early 70s, and may have hosted the Triangle’s first sports talk show. Now Lampley will cover the much-anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
