Right fielder Seth Williams hit a key home run in the seventh inning, and relievers Tim Federowicz and Andrew Carignan set down six straight batters over the final two frames to help No. 1 North Carolina hold on for a 7-5 win over No. 11 Miami in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener for both teams at Boshamer Stadium Friday.
