Dean Smith's inherent goodness led to his greatness

Dean Smith had an incredible memory. His players and coaching staff all said that, and he used it for much more than maximizing his team’s performance on the court. He used it to show people that they mattered to him—even if they were only fleeting acquaintances—by a gesture as simple as remembering their names. (Carolina Connections)
