One of Dean Smith's top recruiting classes will gather to honor coach

Five lifelong friends and their wives will meet in UNC’s Alumni Center for lunch on Wednesday. They could think of no better way to honor Dean Smith, the man who brought them all together. Joe Brown, Bill Bunting, Franklin “Rusty” Clark, Dick Grubar and Gerald Tuttle, the UNC basketball class of 1969, occupy a special spot at the beginning of the Tar Heels’ rise to prominence under Smith.
