No early signing period coming to college football in 2015, as recruiting debate is tabled

College football's debate about speeding up the recruiting calendar was tabled Wednesday when conference commissioners decided it was more prudent to slow down the discussion. Any talks about instituting an early signing period, in which prep football recruits could sign binding letters of intent before the traditional date of the first Wednesday in February, will now be tabled one year the Collegiate Commissioners Association announced at a meeting in Asheville, North Carolina.
