Players from Wake Forest’s 1955 CWS championship happy ACC’s 60-year drought is over

It was 60 years before Virginia joined the 1955 Wake Forest team as the only national champions in ACC history. The Cavaliers broke down the door with a 4-2 win Wednesday night over Vanderbilt in Omaha, Neb. It’s not out of the question that it could be six more decades until the league again has a title winner? After all, no one foresaw Wake Forest shouldering the load for as long as it did.
