UNC Football: 5 Reasons The Defense Improves

If it wasn't for California, Texas Tech and Iowa State, UNC would have had the lowest rated defense among teams from Power Five conferences last fall. Somehow, those other three clubs were more charitable than the 2014 Tar Heels....There are reasons for optimism, however. In fact, a significant improvement wouldn't be all that shocking, though a considerable jump from finishing the previous season rated as the No. 117 defense in the nation is what, exactly?
