Mack Brown says Gene Chizik will make Tar Heels better

When Mack Brown and his Texas Longhorns won the 2005 national football championship, the guy in charge of his defense was Gene Chizik. Perhaps the best football coach in UNC history before leaving for Texas late in 1997, Brown was quick to point out Chizik’s impact on that 2005 season when asked about the Tar Heels’ new defensive coordinator Tuesday at the ACC Kickoff.
