The excitement was evident from the moment Gene Chizik walked through the door of UNC’s practice facility last January. There was also a palpable feeling of respect. “The first meeting we had with him, he walks in the room and everyone is sitting perfectly straight, hands on their knees, almost a little scared,” senior linebacker Jeff Schoettmer said.
