UNC gets $20M from Homeland Security for Coastal Resilience Center

With a $20 million grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, UNC-Chapel Hill launched a new Coastal Resilience Center of Excellence (CRC) to address “unique challenges facing communities across the United States that are vulnerable to coastal hazards,” according to UNC. The center will concentrate on developing tools to help coastal communities that are vulnerable to coastal hazards, like hurricanes, flooding and sea-level rise, become more resilient to these threats.
