Sold: Chapel Hill radio station WCHL has a new owner

For the first time since 1993, Chapel Hill radio station WCHL will have a new owner. Colorado-based investor Leslie Rudd submitted the winning bid to buy the Chapel Hill radio station’s parent company out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy during an auction Friday. Rudd beat out a bid submitted by longtime WCHL owner Jim Heavner, his business partner Bob Woodruff and local businessman Edward Holmes.
