Big opening game for Gamecocks, Tar Heels and the ‘real Carolina’

One football game won’t settle the argument about which Carolina has the best barbecue. But the South Carolina-North Carolina football game Thursday night in Charlotte doubles as one of the most important openers in Steve Spurrier’s tenure with the Gamecocks and the biggest non-conference game in Larry Fedora’s four years with the Tar Heels.
