Can Gene Chizik raise the level of UNC's defense? South Carolina won't be an offensive juggernaut -- the jury is out on new Gamecocks QB Connor Mitch -- but North Carolina's dismal defensive performances a season ago weren't limited to just good offenses. Any opposing offense with the requisite 11 players shredded the Tar Heels' defense. The Heels are an ACC sleeper again. (ESPN.com)
