New minister of defense: Chizik preaches physicality, schemes for Tar Heels

Gene Chizik, former head coach of a national championship team at Auburn, is orchestrating an overhaul of one of the most porous defenses in college football. The alignments have changed. The attitude has been altered. And most importantly to the Tar Heels, the results must be upgraded. “I know we’re not there yet. We started at Square A and we’re trying to get to Z,” Chizik said.
