South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier asked for a clarification on the game stats, after his team beat North Carolina, 17-13, in the Belk College Kickoff Game in Charlotte on Thursday. “They got 440 yards?” Spurrier asked about North Carolina’s offense, “and 13 points?” Spurrier was told that both numbers were correct. He shook his head and said, “That doesn’t go together.”
