Redshirt freshman Thomas Jefferson’s 72-yard TD dash on the game’s second play was the longest run by a UD freshman in school history, surpassing Phil Thaxton’s 63-yard scamper against West Chester in 2007. “When I saw the play, it opened up quickly, and I just tried to hit it as quick as possible and just run,” Jefferson said. Jefferson complimented the offensive line for creating spaces to run all day. (Delaware News Journal)
