NC State RB Shadrach Thornton charged in scooter accident

Shadrach Thornton, a running back on the NC State football team, was charged Tuesday in a crash that left a pedestrian injured. Raleigh police said Thornton was driving a scooter that hit a man near the intersection of Avent Ferry Road and Western Boulevard at about 9:15 p.m. The man was not seriously injured, police said. They charged him with failure to stop and render aid and failure to provide information. The charge marks Thornton's third brush with the law.
